Low Salinity Water Flooding (LSWF) is one of the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technology. JOGMEC is focusing on determining LSWF’s potential for practical implementation and evaluating its applicability for deployment, through both laboratory experiments and numerical simulations.

JOE supported the study of practical implementation of LSWF process, by selecting the feasible and cost effective technology from the experience of JOE in large petroleum experience. With this study, JOGMEC has forwarded several requests and queries to JOE, and was very satisfied and appreciative of the high quality of response it received from JOE. The study includes the followings;

The technology survey was conducted from the in-house database in JOE. These technologies were evaluated from the experience and knowledge of JOE.

In order to make Low Salinity Water, some unit operations are required to meet the preferable properties. The required unit operations were extracted, and equipment matched to the required unit operation was selected. The required process scheme was established on the basis of JOE’s expertise relating to oil development.

The case study was conducted to the proposed process by adopting several process conditions.
