In this project, JOE supported field development study of the Middle East fields where client has been operating for many years. This study was conducted based on various field data and it was carried out with client’s reservoir engineers and geologists for about one year.
One of the reservoirs is considered to be bottom water drive reservoir and peripheral injection is adopted. Therefore, the water production management is a crucial problem in the long term production development. To predict water production forecast accurately, understanding reservoir architecture and bulk flow behavior in the reservoir is quite important. The possibilities of flow behavior such as fault flow path and bending flow movement by tight layer were evaluated using the reservoir simulation model.
